I joined the Prefectorial Board for personal growth. Although I’ve been a prefect since Sec 1, I’m learning about being a leader all the time. My biggest challenge is communication. Because I’m an introvert and fairly independent, I tend to do things by myself. But when you’re a leader, you need to communicate and know that you can’t succeed if you do everything yourself.

Being thrust in this leadership position has forced me to work outside of my comfort zone. I’ve been involved in running IOS 2020 and the ARTasFEST. Organising events like these needs not just a lot of communication and teamwork, but a leader must rally the team together and yet manage his or her own stress.
